From vision to reality:
The success story of Jonas Strunz at DVS Digital

Welcome to our new blog series "A day in the shoes of ...", where we dive deep into the daily lives of our team members to shed light on their roles, challenges, and the culture within the company. Today we shine our spotlight on an integral part of our team - Jonas Strunz, a Software Engineer in the DVS Digital Unit, who has been enriching the company with his expertise since November 2022.

DVS Digital is a unit of the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP and is firmly anchored in our service area. Our main task is to digitize and optimize your service processes. From the provision of digital machine files to new value-added applications directly at the machine - DVS Digital is at the heart of this transformation. Since graduating in software technology in 2017 and my subsequent experience in mechanical engineering, I joined DVS Digital to drive digitalization with my expertise in edge computing and IoT.

 

My role and responsibilities

"As a software engineer, my focus is on developing innovative solutions that support our customers and partner companies. My main tasks range from software architecture planning to development and customer meetings, which gives me a wide range of experience and allows for personal growth."

Working environment and team

"My day-to-day work is characterized by flexibility and modernity. With AWS as our cloud platform, I work in a future-oriented environment that allows us to react quickly to industry developments. Teamwork is based on the agile Scrum method, which not only increases our efficiency, but also enables close collaboration and regular feedback."

Challenges and successes

"Every working day starts with a strong coffee, followed by a review of the day's tasks. The biggest challenge in my position is to understand our customers' needs precisely and translate them into functional software solutions. The sense of achievement is therefore particularly sweet when we see how our solutions make our customers' work easier.

The team at DVS Digital is international, which is why English is our working language. This not only enhances my language skills, but also my understanding of different cultures. The ability to work remotely, combined with regular meetings in the office, makes our collaboration flexible and effective."

Special projects and responsibilities

"My contribution to larger company goals is to develop platforms like DVS Edge that simplify the working lives of our customers. These projects not only give me the opportunity to contribute my expertise, but also to have a direct impact on our customers' satisfaction."
